3rd grade went to Lowell Park yesterday on a field trip for Outdoor Stewardship Days and learned about the layers of the forest, the rain cycle, and animals native to Northern Illinois. They also made booklets and stencils of nature.
These students in 5MC were rocking it as they reviewed what is important to include in a personal narrative. #1 showing, not telling, #2 Use dialogue, #3 Include Figurative language, are just a few.
Students used their drama skills to demonstrate how vivid verbs improve the readers understanding of text. Instead of they "walked" across the room, these students flipped, zoomed, and scrambled.
Students in Mrs. Stahl's 3rd grade class were so excited and grateful when their substitute teacher Ms. Victoria Milam sent them a special gift of a talking stick after subbing in their classroom this month. What a wonderful and thoughtful gesture, Ms. Milam. Thank you for caring so much about our kids!

Garden Club got the courtyard planted, Office Officials helped to pack up the office for summer, the Custodial Crew made sure the windows were sparkling, and the Holiday Crew made our sidewalk welcoming!
